How I Got The Shot #20 - Plant Reynoldsburg

Hello everyone!  And welcome back to another episode.  I had the pleasure of covering an annual event in Reynoldsburg.  Every year the city asks for volunteers to help plant flowers and other plants on the city hall grounds and other government owned properties.  People that show up for this event want to show their civic pride by helping make the public lands as attractive as possible.

Check out the details after the break...

Creative Process:
You generally get a lot of shots during this time of people digging into the earth, planting vegetation...yeah...the usual stuff.  However, there are times when you'll find a not so usual picture.  This is what we as photographers live for, that Cartier-Bresson "decisive moment".   This year, I found it in a little boy, who after helping his parents work the soil, needed a break.

Location:
The Reynoldsburg City Hall, Reynoldsburg, OH

Gear:
Nikon D300
Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6

EXIF Info:
Shot in Aperture Priority, 1/320th @ f/6.3, ISO 200, 116mm
Post processed in Lightroom 3.4, B&W with heavy grain.

Lighting Setup:
All ambient exposure.

Out of the two, this image is my favorite.  The crossed legs and the I don't care what is going on around me attitude all make it for me.

This one is fun too, so I've included it!
