How I Got The Shot #15 - Senior Shoot #2 - Indoor with Small Flashes!

Another recent senior shoot - this is Skyla's sister Brittany.

A little secret, I did shoot both sisters under the same lighting conditions.  They both got a location, natural light shoot and a more controlled lighting "studio" style shoot.

They both had great images in both sessions.  Today we are going to look at and evaluate Brittany's "studio" shots.

Creative Process:

We needed more formal head shots, beauty shots....that kind of thing and a few outfit changes.  As it turns out, the clients home location was the best place for this.  They had a spacious living room and I brought my "studio in a bag".

Speed light power roughly at 1/8 to 1/4.

Lighting Setup:

Basic one light setup with reflector for fill.

We shot with this basic setup for the whole shoot.  The light was roughly a foot to a foot and a half from the model or closer.

Just like any photography shoot, it is important to know where your light is coming from and where to position your models in relationship to it.  Once you have that, you might need to direct your subject.  Try and have a good re pore with the model.  If they are at ease, you'll get better shots.  Brittany was great to work with, a natural like her sister.  Let me tell you, these two girls know how to work the camera.  It's clients like these that make getting great images easy!
